Praising our children for success or effort is great for their self esteem and it can even encourage them to reach goals and accomplish things quicker. Having personalised stickers and a reward chart at home is therefore ideal for when you want to congratulate your children for completing homework without a fuss, toilet train toddlers or try to get a fussy eater to taste new foods.
We received a dinosaur themed set for Jamster from School Stickers and it has been used as an incentive to keep his room tidy as he does tend to leave his toys, books and games on his floor at times. I felt he really needed some form of motivation to induce action and this would be a good yet low cost solution.
The chart is made from card and is A3 in size. There are 28 spaces for stickers and at only 99p for 1 (excluding VAT) or £11.95 for 30 it is an affordable method of discipline - such great value!
The stickers are again priced at 99p (excluding VAT) for a sheet of 18 but there are packs available of 234 or 700 too if you want to stock up.
The colours are vibrant on both the chart and stickers and the wording is bold which can be personalised for your child with their name. There are lots (hundreds!) of other themes you can choose from apart from dinosaurs including pirates, stars and bugs and ones that can be used for specific subjects like English or for specific achievements like opting for a healthy lunch. There is a huge range to decide from so there is likely to be something to suit your requirements - I was very impressed.
I decided to attach the reward chart on the reverse of Jamster's door so that he could see his progress himself with ease, with the idea that it would be a reminder to clean up at the end of each day before bed. Working from the bottom of the chart to the top, where the volcano explodes, he has so far managed to receive several stickers for his hard work but we have added an extra incentive for a completed sheet (4 weeks) of a treat of his choice e.g a DVD or day out. I think he still needs a little extra persuasion at times!
The reward chart and stickers are both very good value for money and high quality products. I have already recommended the website, which also sells postcards, stamps and certificates, to several friends that have children of their own too.
