Valentine's Day: Love Bug Pom Pom Craft

Minxy received lots of beautifully coloured yarn at Christmas so we decided to use some for a themed craft activity while it was wet at the weekend. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and these cute and lovable pom poms are actually really simple to create - we made some as key rings and bag accessories too.

It was a bit of a wet and wild bank holiday weekend with plenty of thunder storms across the country, so we decided to stay snug indoors and have some baking fun as a family. While I was busy making moist Madeira cake with Jambo, Moomin made a collection of treats by herself including American style muffins and these delicious two tone stars.

They are really simple to create yet the finish is rather pretty. They also fit in nicely with the return of The Great British Bake Off and the first theme - biscuits!

Card Roll Fairy Homes

I've been putting a few kitchen and wrapping paper rolls to one side, especially for half term, as they are always come in handy for rainy day crafts and keeping the kids entertained for free. There are so many things you can create with them from animals and vehicles to these cute little houses that will go well in your gardens for outdoor play! 

When plastic tealights are added they look really magical in the summer evenings but your little ones could always leave their teeth inside ready for the tooth fairy to collect from their rooms too.

Lip scrub - How To Make Your Own

Minxy is at the age where the usual cute crafts and activities don't keep her as entertained as they used to, so we've been making lots of hair and beauty goodies together recently which she adores!

These lip scrubs are really quick and easy to complete, with just a few ingredients required, and they would be something tweens would enjoy creating at sleepovers or to receive as alternative gifts at parties.
