Stylish Footwear from Start-rite

If you haven't already done the 'back to school' shop it will no doubt be on the agenda in the next few days and smart footwear is an essential for your shopping list.

Jamster received a lovely pair of Warrior shoes from Start-rite just before we broke up for the summer holiday and Minxy is now the proud owner of some Lizzy Black Leather shoes ready to start the new academic year. They will both be looking smart come September.

Minxy's school is quite strict when it comes to their uniform policy but Start-rite have a good variety of smart, flat footwear that meets the specific requirements in place. She was able to select a pair that would keep the school happy while also meeting her own personal needs - being a tween style is always on her mind which I have to take into consideration too.

Creative Summer Project - Daily Activities for the Holiday

With the summer holiday on the horizon and our purses already in panic mode I thought it would be a nice idea to put together some posts to keep the kids entertained - for free or very little cost!

My 'Creative Summer Project' will run daily with a new idea being shared between 23rd July and 5th September to provide inspiration and keep little ones occupied. As a parent I know that it can take time to search for fun things to do, and then find the materials to do them, so I've already created, tried and tested 44 (yes, I may be insane) recipes and crafts with the Mini Mes to prevent boredom from striking.

These use store cupboard essentials and items from around the home, or recycling boxes, so you won't need to spend much at all, if anything, to be give them a go.

When - daily from 23rd July - 5th September 2016
What - a variety of crafts, recipes and activity ideas to keep your little ones occupied all holiday
Why - to inspire parents and give them some fun suggestions to try throughout the 6 week break

You can sign up to our newsletter to receive a reminder when the Creative Summer Project begins or follow us via social media using the icons below.

Today, our friends at Pampers released a short film which showcases just how babies bring out the best in us all, highlighting that there’s nothing we wouldn’t do to make life #BetterForBaby - if you haven’t seen it, you can watch it here:

I must admit, my eyes got a little watery watching it!

Whether for your own beautiful brood, grandchildren, nieces and nephews or friends’ children, we all make changes to ensure that their lives are as happy as possible. And, what better time to celebrate the love that babies bring than Christmas?

This festive season, Pampers want to help spread the cheer by pledging to help make life #BetterForBaby in local communities. Celebrating all that people do to ensure that babies can live their lives to the fullest, Pampers are offering five £1,000 bursaries, to help people like you and I make life #BetterForBaby in our neighbourhoods!

How you can make life #BetterForBaby?

Is there something you’d really love to see built in your community? Maybe you want to improve some much-needed changing facilities, supply nappies and blankets to a local shelter, or update playtime equipment for a community nursery… anything goes! If so, Pampers want to know exactly what you’d do to make life #BetterForBaby - tell Pampers your pledge using #BetterForBaby to be in with a chance of winning one of five £1,000 bursaries!

The First 1000 Days of Parenthood

The first 1000 days runs from the very beginning of pregnancy right the way through to your baby's second birthday. It is known to be the most important time in a child's life when it comes to their development and it can be a big learning journey in terms of parenthood too. Us mums and dads can certainly experience a lot during this period, with a mixture of highs and lows, but there are plenty of magical memories to be made as we watch our little ones grow!

If it were just up to me I would most definitely love to welcome another bundle of joy into the world.

Although in the very early days it can feel like a blur with lots of dirty nappies, crying and feeding there are great times to follow. Seeing your baby grasp your finger as they stare deeply into your eyes, watching them roll over, the first gummy smile and first steps are unmissable and truly unforgettable. It actually makes the negative parts feel totally worthwhile. It does however go so fast and although Minxy is about to start secondary school it feels like just yesterday she was going to nursery for the first session.
