Project 365 - A photo A Day #1

I always begin this and end up failing miserably. I'm desperate to complete a full year though and I'm determined to make 2014 the one!

The idea, if you don't already know, is to take a photo a day EVERY DAY.
I'll be sharing my collection every Saturday from the previous week.

Here are my first few photos since January 1st...

  • I'm on a mission to lose weight and I'm counting down to Kefalonia so the Zumba Rush made an appearance on New Year's Day. Bring on the beach body!
  • Not the best of pics as it was taken in a darkened hallway, but Spartan was sat by the door waiting for the Mr to come home after work so I snapped a quick pic before he moved. I thought it was really sweet.
  • We went to the cinema to see Frozen and came across this LEGO Movie board... as soon as Jamster saw Batman on there he was keen to pop his face in the cut out!
  • A rather boring day spent at home working, so eating was probably the highlight! I've been enjoying Ryvita since the new year began and these are my favourite flavour so far; Mediterranean Herb.

What photos have you taken this week?

WIN a Best Wishes Gift Set from Lush #ChristmasGiftGiveaway

This box of bath time delights from Lush is beautifully presented and would make a great gift solution this Christmas!

The Best Wishes set contains a trio of goodies and it's a steal at £13.50 complete with wrapping, ribbon and tag.

Luxury Lush Pud
With lavender, tonka absolute and ylang ylang this bath bomb will help to melt away the stresses of the season and relax you. The pastel colours are really pretty and your water will soon turn purple as you lay back and enjoy! I'm not a great lover of lavender in general but the scent was pleasantly sweet and it really helped me to unwind.

Golden Wonder
This bath bomb is layer upon layer of colour and filled with paper stars that float to the surface as the product dissolves - if you shake it you can hear them rattle about inside! It's a very festive treat featuring gold lustre and shades of blue and green. It bubbles away under running water like champagne and the air is filled with scents of orange, lime and cognac oils - Minxy indulged with this one and she loved the little parcel style presentation.

Snowcake
I adore the sweet scent of this soap. It's compared to fruit and marzipan and I would totally agree. It lathers up well for hands or body and it doesn't dry out your skin.
The fragrance of rose absolute, cassis absolute and benzoin resin lingers nicely for hours.

Lush *Review and Giveaway*

Being a mum I long for a little pampering and if I don't have time for a trip to the spa it's lovely to just have a soak in the tub with some nice smelling products.

With Mother's Day on the horizon, the perfect time to be treated,  I'm hoping to receive some goodies from Lush and their lovely Mum range is ideal!

Mumkin
This cute bubble bar produces lots of fruity (raspberry) scented bubbles when crumbled under water and turns the water a lovely shade of pink! The smell is feminine and sweet and left my skin feeling super soft. It's a quirky yet pretty product.

Secret Garden
This ballistic brings all the fresh scents of Spring as it is packed with fragrance from rose absolute, orange and rosewood oils. The floral patterned bath bomb has a secret centre of rose, blue mallow and marigold petals so you can lay back and enjoy a bit of outdoors, indoors!

The Mum
This Chrysanthe'mum' shaped wand helps to brighten skin and provides uplifting fragrances of bergamot, juniperberry and orange oil with beautiful Green Bubbleroon thrown in too. A few swishes under running water will add colour and scent to your bath and it can be set aside and used time and time again. A classic favourite.

Our week that was - Outdoor fun, detoxing and Lush

Sunday the Mr and I had a browse around the shops before heading out for a long walk with the dog. I sliced up all of my caramel and chocolate torte I had made to give to family and saved one slice for the Mr to enjoy. The temptation was too much so I had to give it away before I ate it all!

Monday with the routine of school returning I had a workout before work and spent the evening visiting family with the Mini Mes

Tuesday I received a surprise delivery in the post of some Toffifee and a book so I had a read and a few treats before popping the rest in the fridge to share (I will be slim).

Wednesday Minxy received some books in the post that she won from her magazine so she snuggled up for a read before heading off to her dad's for the evening with Jamster. The Mr and I stayed in as unfortunately he had his wallet stolen at work so he spent the evening cancelling bank cards and speaking to the police.

Thursday was my cousin's 16th birthday so after work and school we visited her with some lovely Lush goodies as her gift.

Friday I went to see Les Miserables so we walked the poochie a little earlier than usual. Jamster found a small hill and pretended to be a ninja on it... I don't know where he gets it from!

Today we headed to some nearby woods that we hadn't taken the Mini Mes to before and we enjoyed stomping about in really thick mud and exploring. The trees looked a little spooky as the sun began to set.

FUN

Imagine a beautifully scented soft dough that can be used in the bath, shower, to wash your hair and to play with and you have Fun; Lush's latest invention.

I'm a big fan of Lush (as are the Mini Mes) so we were pleased to receive a box filled with goodies for us to review including Fun.

Fun comes in 5 colours, each with its own fragrance; Pink smells sweet like candy, green is packed with lime and lemon for a refreshing clean, blue contains lavender to help your little one relax before bed, red is bursting with orange and mandarin and yellow is vanilla to remind you of ice cream and and cake! A lovely variety to suit every taste.

The Mini Mes instantly wanted to create some models and shapes so they removed them from the biodegradable wrappers to play.

Some of their creations...

Similar to salt dough it was easy to squish, roll and shape. It was quite crumbly at first but the more it was used the softer it became. The Mini Mes loved it!

To use fun to clean with you pinch off a small piece and lather it up. You can also crumble it under running water to wash your clothes with so that they smell delicious too. This 4 in 1 product really is very versatile. I like how the scent remains despite being played with!

Each colour costs £5 which is perhaps a little pricey for some but considering they can be used in so many ways, are fragranced wonderfully and will last quite some time I think that's acceptable. I would buy them.

You can order yours online or in store. www.lush.co.uk

With every purchase for the first year Lush will donate 10p to support children that were affected by the Fukushima Disaster. They want to help put some fun into the lives of those where there may be very little at present - a lovely idea!

Saturday Caption #SatCap

The Mini Mes have had great fun with 'Fun' this week, the new 4 in 1 invention from Lush and here are some of their creations... What are this bunch up to?

Apparently it's a skinny Santa, figgy pudding and a present with a snowman and Rudolph watching over!

Have you got a funny or witty caption for this photo? I would love to hear it!

Have a great weekend.

Currently Coveting

I'm forever having a browse through catalogues and online thinking 'ooohhh' at a variety of products that I would love to own. Similar to window shopping minus the rain and cold!

Here is a collection of what I'm currently coveting...

I love Lush products and this bumper box of goodies would work wonders at the moment having returned to work after 6 weeks! The print tunic is from Dorothy Perkins and I adore big knits, especially this time of year with some leggings and fluffy boots. The sweet collection is from Prezzybox and I just think that they look fantastic in the little bottles which I could store some other bits in afterwards.

Minxy loves...

She is slightly Zooble obsessed and has around 30, so this car is something she has been after for a while! She saw the Orbeez foot spa advertised on TV recently and has been asking about it for Christmas already.

Jamster loves...

Jamster has always been a big Marvel Fan but is particularly liking the Lego Batman range at the moment and the monster range.

What have you seen recently that you love?

Monday Me #4

TheMiniMesandMe

I hope you all had a fab weekend and managed to squeeze in some valuable me time last week to share. A bit of time to ourselves is vital to relax, think and refresh our mind... and restore our sanity!.

If you are new to Monday Me and would like to join in you can find out more here and gran the badge code from the right.

My Monday Me

Last week my mum treated me to a few bits in Lush when we were shopping and I've thoroughly enjoyed some tub time in the evenings! I adore Lush products and this week I've used a Creamy Candy, Sex Bomb and Dorothy. They smell delicious but my all time favs are still Twilight, Sweetie Pie and Comforter... anything feminie that smells like a sweet shop generally!

Saturday we were child free from 10am so I made the most of some me time with a foot long tikka subway and a trip to see Spiderman at the cinema. I love Marvel movies and I actually felt this was better than the original. Jamster has been asking to see it since so I will probably go again during the summer with the Mini Mes too.

In the evening I headed to The Imli Lounge in Northampton for a wonderful curry with the Mr, my brother and my parents. I indulged with a lamb tikka masala, pilau rice, keema naan and bombay potato OINK. It was fab though.

Sunday after a lovely lay in the Mr and I headed to Hollowell for the annual Steam and Heavy Horse show. Again I scoffed naughty foods in the form of a hog roast roll with stuffing and some caramel and chocolate fudge. The mud was incredibly slippy and deep but thankfully I had my funky floral wellies on!

Even after all of the above my exercise and calorie counting, Monday - Friday at least, has paid off with a 2lb loss!

What have you done this week for you? I would love to hear!
You can link up below and I'll pop over for a read and share them on Twitter for you too.
