Minecraft certainly isn't something that appeals to me but the Mini Mes are obsessed with it. It's rare to have a day pass without Cave Spiders, Creepers and Endermen mentioned or without a request for time on the Xbox. They can be creative through game play and I've never seen them team up together so eagerly as brother and sister, with no bickering whatsoever, which is definitely a positive thing. They were delighted when some figures arrived in the post for them recently as they can now play the game off screen too - I don't need to worry about those square eyes quite so much either!

Saturday Caption - Batman Buddies
Even superheroes are entitled to a DVD day...
Ka-pow!
Have you got a caption for this duo of bat people that look very much like Jamster and I?
I'd love to hear it!
Have a great weekend.

Ice Age Live - A Mammoth Adventure
The Ice Age movie franchise has been loved by the Mini Mes and I for several years, so when we heard the characters were going live in a new stage show we were eager to go along for a magical family experience.
We received tickets to one of eight shows at Wembley Arena just a few days ago and had an amazing time. The stage, an ice rink, was set beautifully with large screens for the back drop and mountains too. We were 4 rows from the front so we had a superb view throughout. We sat in awe at just how 'real' the super-size puppets looked, controlled by people within - the mammoths being over 3 metres tall!
All of the favourite characters including Sid, Diego, Manny, Ellie, Peaches and Buck are on stage and Scrat and and Scratte are present too with their acorn chasing adventures. There are new characters to see with Shadow the bird that swoops over the audience and bears and foxes with great dancing, martial arts and stunts. The lighting and outfits of all are truly spectacular and the skating is very good. There are lots of spins and lifts to keep the audience engaged and a variety of songs to get you swaying in your seat. There are also opportunities to clap along so you get to feel quite involved with the performance during the 50 minute halves.
The story of the Mammoth Adventure involves Manny, Diego and Sid searching for their family and friends after they are kidnapped by Shadow and his gang of birds. You follow them on their mission through an enchanted garden and other locations to get the characters home safely.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the show and I would recommend going to all Ice Age Fans, old or young!
The show is on tour for 5 years across several countries You can find out more about the show and book tickets here:

My little Skylander fan(atic)
When Jamster first saw the Skylanders starter pack advert on TV and turned to me with wide eyes and an open mouth, I knew that it was something he would love. I pre-ordered the set and put it away for Christmas.
Ever since he received it he has spent many rainy days sat at the Wii, remote to hand, playing away silently. I'll admit I have joined in from time to timequite frequently to help him on his quest.
He's used his pocket money to purchase more figures...
We HAD to go to see the Skylanders first when we went to Lollibop...
...and he has the t-shirt and posters to match his favourite game too.
His favourite Skylander is Wrecking Ball as "his tongue sticks out and he is cheeky" but he loves Dark Spyro too as he is "totally awesome" apparently!
He can't wait until the release of Skylanders Giants - something no doubt Santa will HAVE to get him for Christmas this year!

The Gallery - Movies
I am a great lover of movies. Most nights the Mr and I snuggle up on the sofa to watch a Blu-ray before bed, possibly a glass of wine in hand or a pear Cidre and some chocolate.
Our love has definitely rubbed off onto the Mini Mes too. Both experienced their first cinema trips at around the age of 1 and they have their own vast collection of films. Minxy loves comedy whereas Jamster prefers action, Marvel being a favourite. Often on rainy days they play cinemas by closing the lounge curtains, adjusting the furniture and making tickets before their eyes are fixed on the tv screen in the darkness.

We have had lots of lovely movie experiences both at home and the cinema...
They love to dress as the characters too...
