Caption THIS #2

We all manage to capture a few odd expressions or mishaps on camera so why not share them so we can all have a giggle? That's what I will be doing each Saturday and for those that join in by commenting there will be a chance to win some treats each week!

Spartan wasn't keen on the drilling coming from next door so he mounted the sofa and started barking at the wall...

You Know It's The End Of The School Year When...

... The kids bombard you with artwork! All of the wall displays are taken down from the classes and the pictures are sent home. Most arrive ripped, covered in twisted staples or slightly crumpled after being rammed into their bags, but it's always lovely to see how creative they have been.

Minxy has so far this week returned home with quite a collection!

How Does Your (Kefalonian) Garden Grow?

We had a lovely family holiday to the beautiful island of Kefalonia last week and our quiet hillside complex was filled with pretty and vibrant flowers. Some of which I'd never seen before.
There were also plenty of olive and fig trees bursting with fruit, which is what gave our apartment it's name...

The importance of pet insurance

Pets quickly become part of the family and many of us build unbreakable bonds with cats and dogs in particular as they live in our homes for many years - even if they cover it in fur!

Our Border Collie Spartan has just turned one and despite the stuffing being pulled from cushions and little puddles being left on the floor in the early days, he is very loveable, a wonderful companion and we would not want to be without him. The Mini Mes have become very close to him and are often found sneaking him upstairs for cuddles in their rooms and they are keen to come along on walks too which is beneficial for us all.

So far we have been lucky that he has never been ill or needed treatment from the vet bar his annual boosters, but if something more sinister did occur we would like to know he would receive the care he requires without a hefty bill at the end.

Illness and accidents can be costly but paying a small monthly payment can help to ensure your pet will be looked after if or when the time comes without fear you can't make payment. A lack of funds could result in your beloved pet being put to sleep or being re-homed, as harsh at it may seem, which none of us would want.

After searching online for pet insurance I came across this cute advert of a comparison site, so I headed to the Choosi website to see what they could offer.

Choosi have a variety of pet insurance plans to select from to suit your individual financial and pet needs. Insurance helps you cover the fee for unexpected trips to the vet which can add up to hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. Even a small wound or ear infection can ring up a bill that will make you cringe to look at. They have accident and illness cover or a lower premium alternative of accidents only. If you wish to include routine care within your insurance you can opt for that too which helps with the cost of micro-chipping, de-sexing and vaccinations.

We cover our household appliances from breakdown, our vehicles and our own lives too so it's important not to forget the little balls of fluff that are so important to us aswell.

Are your pets covered?

Monster Pet Supplies - Pet review

Our family doesn't only consist of the Mini Mes, the Mr and I - the pets are important to us too!

We were lucky enough to have been sent two products for the cats, Peppa and Daisy, to review from Monster Pet Supplies and from their reactions they were very impressed with what they received.

The items arrived in lovely packaging. Green to match the cute logo and packed with tissue paper for an added touch. It felt like they cared about providing good service. I think this makes a big difference when shopping online, delivery times and the appearance of your items need to be good, which they were.

There was a little note to the cats inside with the items and we were pleased to see a soft and fluffy toy and some catnip spray inside to test.

KONG Kickeroo - £4.22

Daisy

Cats love to hunt, roll and scratch and this toy is ideal. With it's different textures and crinkle noise when squeezed it is interesting and it keeps the cats entertained. The material is soft and it's the perfect size for the cats to play with and wrestle.

It contains 'premium North American catnip' and the cats were attracted from the moment it was unwrapped. From playing for some time I would say that it's quite a robust item as it didn't seem to snag easily even been clawed and nibbled. I was pleased with the quality and value for money.

The kickeroo comes in a variety of styles so there is something to suit every taste - even a cute pink one!

KONG Naturals Catnip Spray - £4.32

This definately got the cats moving thats for sure - they became very playful in a matter of seconds after a spritz of this catnip spray! It's a great, natural product to get the cats interested in their toys, scratching posts, teasers or even balls and helps to prevent them from climbing the curtains and attacking the carpet as it keeps them occupied.

The smell wasn't particularly pleasant initially, perhaps my fault for spraying quite a bit to try it out, so I would suggest taking the item outside to spray and then placing it back indoors to help keep the scent minimal. The cats loved it though, which is what really matters, and it really perked them up and gave them some well needed exercise (they do like to just lay on top of the tv or on the chairs!). It was like renewing all of their old toys, they soon had an interest in items they hadn't played with in some time and I think because the spray is made from concentrated catnip oil a little will go a long way.

It was easy to apply with no mess and the cap keeps it secure. A great buy.

Monster Pet Supplies stock over 20,000 products at low, affordable prices. Having had a look at their site it's easy to navigate around and they even accept paypal!
