Hot Wheels Ballistiks Full Force: Rapid Fire Blaster

Mattel is a popular brand within our home with toy boxes over-flowing with Monster High dolls and Matchbox vehicles, so Jamster in particular was thrilled to receive a Ballistiks Rapid Fire Blaster to review!

Suitable for children aged 5+, the set comes with the launcher itself and also one vehicle is included, other vehicles are sold separately. After a few minutes to assemble the launcher, which is very easy to do, we inserted 2 AA batteries (not included) and began to play.

The launcher is simple to use and Jamster had no problems squishing the cars into balls, inserting them into the launcher and firing them across the room using the lever. When the trigger is pulled, which also makes a good handle to transport it with, it activates the precision targeting light to indicate where the vehicle will end up. Jamster loved aiming at various toys to knock them over and it was very accurate!

The idea is unique in the way the vehicles transform from car to ball and back again although one ball we received was a little temperamental and didn't open every time. I feel that the release button on certain vehicles could do with being a little more sensitive to ensure they transform, although Jamster was happy enough with it firing them just as balls!

You can see me using the launcher here (and firing it at some poor little Minions!):

The translucent design allowed Jamster to see the ball feed through the magazine slide with ease and it was a great way to understand how the launcher actually worked. He really enjoys playing with this toy despite one ball not working correctly.

There are 24 vehicles to collect in total which are ideal for a pocket money purchase.

You can purchase your own below or head over the Mattel website to find out more information.

Micro Chargers

Jamster's toy box is bursting with cars, trucks, lorries.... basically every vehicle imaginable, so the Micro Charger range is a fantastic addition to his collection!

We received the Jump Track set to review which retails at £24.99 and is suitable for children aged 6+.
The set includes the track which is very quick and easy to assemble using the instructions provided, a hand held charger, 2 quick charge micro cars and a trading card. The track pieces are inter-connectable with the other sets available so that you can create your own huge course with loops and jumps and there are 36 micro cars to collect for racing fun.

"The newest, most revolutionary racing set, the only vehicle brand to possess the ability to race at the ultimate speed, in the most micro scale with the most minimal effort."

The cars are powered by Microcharge technology using the hand held charger supplied and just 5 seconds of charge allows them to race for 30 seconds. With a scale speed of 600mph these are seriously fast for little cars!

It was a shame that only one charger was supplied with the set so you can't race at the same time but it was easy enough to charge and release one vehicle and then the other. You slip the car into the charger, press a button to charge and then click another button to release the vehicle directly onto the track. 2 AAA batteries are required for the charger, which aren't supplied.

Jamster loves this set and has played with it quite often since it arrived. It would make a lovely Christmas present for other motor mad kids but I would buy an additional charger to go with it for real competitive play and racing action.

You can pick up your own set from a variety of stores including Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Micro-Chargers-27004-Jump-Track/dp/B00843H8QE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352194865&sr=8-1

*We were sent Micro Chargers for the purpose of this review. The views given our honest and our own.*

Ben 10 Plumber Tech Kit - Review

Jamster is often on missions to defeat evil, save the world and destroy aliens so receiving the Ben 10 Plumber Tech kit from The Entertainer was the perfect toy for him!

Suitable for children aged 4+, the Ben 10 Plumber Tech kit arrives in a suitcase carry mode with a convenient handle for transporting. It can be changed easily for play into several other modes including a Super Decoder, Plumber Blaster and Multi Scope. It makes finding and beating those aliens even more exciting for your little one!

6 different modes

Jamster is a BIG Ben 10 fan so this is ideal for him. It's simple to use and to alter in to the different modes. The instructions included are very well detailed with images too. Jamster was able to turn it from Suitcase to X-Ray Scanner and more by himself. The pieces slot on to the centre and click into place then they can be removed by pressing the release buttons.

There is a button and trigger to activate lights and various sound effects which change depending upon the mode it is in. Batteries (3x LR44) are supplied which is a bonus! I can't really think of any bad points about the product - Jamster loves it.

As it transforms into different equipment it supplies endless fun, it's already kept Jamster occupied for hours. It's quite robust too as Jamster can be a little heavy handed and it has survived well so far! He likes to use it to defend his bed from alien invasion...

You can get your own Ben 10 Plumber Tech Kit from The Entertainer for the amazing price of £9.99 - it's currently on offer with 66% off (previously £29.99) so why not grab a bargain while you can ready for Christmas!

The Entertainer Christmas catalogue is out next week - You find your local store here and pop in to pick one up.

If your child is a big fan Ben 10 fan too you may wish to call in to the Redditch store which is opening soon to meet Water Hazard!

John Crane - Tidlo Rainbow Recorders

Anything that involves noise or mess and the Mini Mes want in! These great wooden Rainbow Recorders from the Tidlo range were sent to us from John Crane to review and so far so good!

They seem to have had quite an adventure already having been in the paddling pool, shower, beds and more! Jamster generally uses his to make noise and to have fun but Minxy is far more consructive and is using it for making music, learning about sounds and she has been trying to play some tunes.

The recorders are brightly coloured, attractive and made from wood. They aren't real instruments as they don't have curved windways but they are suitable for play and they come in some other funky colours too. They are a great way to develop sensory awareness as your child can cover the holes and see how the sound changes.
The recorders come individually wrapped for hygiene and are great value. They are suitable for children aged 3+ and would make a great present for little loved ones.
