The annual family festival Camp Bestival returns this August with tons of fun adventures all the family can enjoy. This year, BAFTA award winning Skylanders will be joining them at Lulworth Castle and giving festival goers the chance to be amongst the first in the UK to play Skylanders SWAP Force!

 

To celebrate this partnership with Camp Bestival, Skylanders SWAP Force has teamed up with The Mini Mes and Me to give one lucky reader and their loved ones a family ticket* to this famous festival as well as an extra special pack of Skylanders goodies to get them in the festival mood.

 

Skylanders SWAP Force introduces a whole new way of playing with the introduction of 16 new characters, whose top and bottom halves can be swapped to create new characters, providing players with more than 250 unique character combinations! And if having a play of this fantastic new game before it goes in store wasn’t enough the Skylanders arena at Camp Bestival will also be hosting a range of interactive activities including puzzles, painting and picture opportunities.

Lollibop Line-up and Giveaway

LOLLIBOP SET TO ROCK QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK THIS SUMMER

 

LolliBop, The Big Bash for Little People, is returning for 2013 to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, with an incredible line-up designed to delight mini festivalgoers.

Joining some of the hottest names in kids’ entertainment, as well as hundreds of activities, workshops and interactive demos, are the Mr. Men and Little Miss Village Green Event and Shaun the Sheep’s Championsheeps LIVE!





The ever-popular Mr. Men will be hosting a fun maypole activity area and favourite characters, such as Mr. Bump, Mr. Tickle and Little Miss Sunshine, will be meeting and greeting fans at the Mr. Men and Little Miss reading hubs.

Shaun the Sheep will be personally on hand at the Championsheeps with sheepy shenanigans, including Shirley’s Pie-athalon, the Naughty Pig’s Sack Race and Get Fit with the Flock. Kids and parents are ‘wool-come’ to get involved!

- Straight from Nickelodeon to the Lolli Live Stage, The Go! Go! Go! Show are bringing brand new pop songs, catchy, easy-to-learn dance moves and loads of laughs

- Sing and dance along with the adorable Cloudbabies mini show

- Older LolliBoppers will love The Diary of a Wimpy Kid activity, which include exclusive clips of the author Jeff Kinney talking about the books and a master class showing how he draws the characters. There’s also a Wimp Wars quiz

- Experience the life-size Transformer Optimus Prime Truck, along with the Transformers Station; showcasing the new Beast Hunters toys, viewings of the cartoon series Transformers Prime and free green screen pictures

 

- Witness the amazing wildlife showcase with National Geographic Kids Animal Man

- Laugh along with hilarious antics from the amazing 8ft Titan the Robot

Returning LolliBoppers will also see old favourites mixed with new attractions for 2013, including:

LolliBop Live – Popular CBeebies presenter Alex Winters is comparing the live stage which plays host to some of the biggest names in kids entertainment, with live music and performances from stars of stage and screen.

Lollipalladiam - is a live theatre tent showcasing performances from pioneering and internationally renowned companies and artists. This year it features Spooked, the critically acclaimed Broken Rose Performing Arts first show for children – a hilarious and spectacular blend of dance, theatre and spoken word featuring skeletons Molly, Jinny and Charlie.

Science Zone - Make a rocket, hold a dry ice cube, or get messy with gooey slime in the LolliBop lab - brimming with exploding experiments for pint sized guests to try! London’s Science Museum will also be attending with live demonstrations and interactive activities.

Run wild and have fun in the LolliSports area. With activities including retro favourites like swingball, hula-hoop and frisbee to football tournaments and sports day style races.

3ft and under is also making a comeback but this time is it within the brand new Itsy Bitsy Zone. Activities for babies and toddlers will include soft play, baby massage, storytelling, mini discos and much more

 

The Lolli Promenade – Situated on the River Lea! We’re very lucky to have a real river running through our new home, so why not relax and enjoy an ice lolly at the Lolli Promenade which also features beach hut crafts and bandstands.

Discovery Zone - will host a number of educational, interactive and hands on activities where kids can learn a new skill like beatboxing in one of the many workshops.

Lolli Stops – Enjoy crafts from puppet making, and customised fashion workshops, to balloon modelling, and graffiti painting, there is a something to make and do around every corner.

The Meadows - A perfect spot to chill out, enjoy your lunch and watch our special street performers.

Silent Sunday

My week that was... 1st-7th July

Sunday
After a lovely lay in I collected the kids from their dad's house and we went to see Ice Age 4, what a fab movie! Afterwards we met up with my parents in town for some lunch and we enjoyed a lovely homemade ham and chicken pie for dinner.


Monday and Tuesday
Not alot happend today really! The usual school and work routine and an evening indoors due to the rain.


Wednesday
I was feeling rather bleughh today, as were the kids when they got up for school, so we ended up having a duvet day with some movies. There seem to be a few bugs about at the moment so I didn't want to risk them being poorly at school. Plus with it being art week it wasn't as though they were missing out on anything particularly educating today. Well that's what I thought anyway. Better safe than sorry!

Thursday
The weather today made a bit of a turnaround and there was actually some sunshine to be seen yay! In the morning before work I enjoyed a lovely panini and cake with my aunt in a local cafe called The Hideout and after school the Mini Mes and I popped to Co-op for ice creams. The Mini Mes had induction day at school and were pleased with their new teachers. Jamster has the same lovely one from year one and Minxy has a pleasant male teacher. After dinner we all went out for an hour walk with Spartan in the fields.

Friday
Some friends of the family got married today and we were invited to the evening party to celebrate. However we ended up staying in and having an early night as both of the Mini Mes were feeling a bit rough again. Boo hoo!

Saturday
The Mini Mes headed off to see their dad at 10am so the Mr and I made the most of some child free time. We ended up going to see Spiderman at the cinema and having a curry in the evening at a lovely restaurant.

Lollibop

Lollibop is the festival for little people! Returning for its third year to Regents Park on 17th, 18th and 19th August it is set to be a fantastic event for under 10's where all of the entertainment is for the kids. Once you pay for your entry ticket everything is FREE (bar gifts, food and drink).

The Line Up

For the older children there is Tween Town - lasers, workshops and entertainment for those aged 10-12. The workshops include Hula Hooping with Anna the Hulagan, Comedy Pickpocketing Show with Lee Thompson and Beatboxing with Bass6.

The Zingzillas will be performing and helping to get your little ones bopping along and dancing to a selection of songs.

For all the Moshi Monsters fans there is a the Mash Up Tournament. Head over to their tent and you may be lucky enough to meet the characters too!
