Elf on the Shelf Daily #3

Our elf decided to clamber up onto the cupboards today for some felt tip and tissue action above the Christmas tree!

The Mini Mes have been counting down the days since some time back in November but the days seem to be zooming by now with only 22 sleeps to go.

I'm feeling festive.

I'll be posting daily updates during our elf's visit and if you have an elf for December feel free to link up your posts below. It might help to give others some ideas.

Elf on the Shelf... He's back

The Mini Mes' faces lit up with delight this morning as they discovered their little elf friend, Peppy Tum Tums, had returned.

With his poem and passport nearby, a cute elf door complete with key and magic dust PLUS 2 advent calendars it was quite an entrance!

The idea of an elf visiting during the build up to Christmas is to encourage good behaviour. The elf is a little bit cheeky so the Mini Mes will show him how he should behave, but he also brings gifts to keep them busy throughout December too.

I'll be posting daily updates of the mischief he gets up to during his visit.

Creative fun over Christmas

The build up was immense yet it all seemed to be over so quickly. Christmas that is. 

Apart from the endless food and wonderful gifts we had a great time getting crafty and creative too over the festive period.

We made our own cards using fingerprints and potatoes...

We coloured in some cards in glitter gel pens to send to our family and friends to say thank you for the lovely presents they sent us...

We had Peppy Tum-Tums visit who helped us to make paper chains...

We met Santa and pretended that we had traveled all the way to the North Pole to visit him...

And we did lots of baking...

An Elf Update

Peppy Tum-Tums, our Elf on the Shelf, has settled in well and the Mini Mes are thoroughly enjoying hunting around the house each morning to see what mischief he has caused during the night.

He has been caught asleep on the light shade with the beginning of a paper chain for the Mini Mes to continue making and covered the tree in tissues!

He has also left some rather nice treats too...

One morning he was hiding in the tree with a poem and some tiny snowflakes. The poem asked the Mini Mes to sprinkle the snowflakes under the tree before bed and the following morning there were snowflake decorations all over the windows in the house!

Elf on the Shelf.... The arrival

Peppy Tum-Tums, our randomly named Elf on the Shelf, has arrived and what an entrance it was.

He first appeared with personalised advent calendars in tow, a sleigh with reindeer, snow, his passport and a poem to introduce himself too - I'm quite impressed...

... If only the kids knew how much effort I make!

What an elf should be; cheeky yet helpful!

The Mini Mes had been asking about him after receiving a letter from Santa on Saturday mentioning a cheeky little helper of his was on the way to stay. The build up was quite exciting as they wondered who or what may be arriving and seeing their faces when they first saw him was amazing. 

Why didn't I do this before?!

I'm looking forward to seeing what mischief he gets up to already. I think pants hung on the Christmas tree, a decorated toilet and lots of treats are on the way!

Reasons to be Happy

My reasons to be happy

Christmas. The whole build up is getting so exciting.
The Mini Mes can't wait and I am really looking forward to time off work with family and friends.
I still have quite a few gifts left to buy but I know I need so I'm still organised.

This year we have a little Elf coming to stay from 1st December to check on the Mini Mes behaviour for Santa. I'm looking forward to his cheeky activity to begin and the magic and surprise that it will bring for the Mini Mes.

I have arranged a big Christmas Gift Giveaway on my blog for all of the lovely people that have taken the time to pop over and comment during the past few months that I have been blogging. There will be a proper announcement tomorrow but from Saturday I will have daily giveaways with some fantastic products up for grabs right up until 16th!

Elf on the Shelf

Imagine your little one's face when they find a magical elf in the house from Santa! Sent to keep an eye on your child's behaviour, the Elf on the Shelf is a tradition where a cheeky pose-able figure visits during December until Christmas Eve when he catches a lift back with Santa. His mission is to ensure that the children are behaving to determine which list they deserve to be on this year, naughty or nice!

I've named him Peppy Tum-Tums

Your mischievous elf can be given a name and registered online and you can create some great scenarios for it to get the kids giggling and to encourage them to show the elf how it should behave properly. Each night he reports back to Santa to let him know how good your children are being.
I intend to have ours wrapping the Christmas tree in toilet roll and writing messages on the mirrors in toothpaste - simple yet fun!

He will be making an entrance on Saturday, 1st December, when the decorations go up and he will be arriving with a message from Santa and some treats to enjoy over the festive season. I have some great ideas planned for him and lots more goodies for him to magically present to the Mini Mes during the build up to the big day, including home grown lollipops! I'm hoping he helps to keep the Mini Mes calm and sensible up until Christmas morning but excited too by seeing what he gets up to next.
