Meal Planning Monday

I'm rather glad to see the back of last week; one broken mobile, one broken laptop and two poorly children with flu and tonsillitis. March has arrived and I'm hoping that means warmer weather and the end of illness.

This weeks meals were all chosen by the Mini Mes. As they were poorly last week and barely ate I thought it would be nice to let them pick and choose what they fancied. I think they did a good job with some nice variety!

This weeks planner...
Pasta bake with chorizo and bacon
Lamb stew and dumplings (slow cooked)
Sausage casserole (slow cooked) with jacket potatoes
Pizza, chicken wings and garlic bread
Curry, poppadoms and naan bread

At the weekend I think we will probably head out for a meal, possibly Red Hot buffet, and then have a roast on the Sunday as I've not had one in a while.

Meal Planning Monday

December has arrived and the countdown to Christmas has officially begun! As the weather gets even colder there will be a lot more slow cooked meals in this household and I'm really looking forward to more roast dinners and warm desserts too.

This weeks menu...

Slow cooked lamb and stew and dumplings
Jacket potatoes and slow cooked chilli
Slow cooked meatball bolognese
Roast chicken
Mexican night (Fajitas, Enchiladas, nachos etc)

We are away in Blackpool at the weekend reviewing some of the attractions there so we will be eating out Saturday and will pick up something on the way home Sunday.

What's on your menu?

Meal Planning Monday

The weekend goes too quickly boo! But there is only this week to go at work and school before half term arrives, which is definitely something to be pleased about.
The planner this week was selected by the entire family again with each of us picking atleast one meal each...

Pasta bake
Toad in the hole with mash, veg and gray
Jacket potatoes with cheese and beans or chilli
Kievs, potatoes and veg
Fajitas

We are child free next weekend and we have some of my family over for a takeaway on the Saturday before heading to town for Halloween drinks, in costume. The Sunday will be something light and quick, as no doubt we will be slightly hungover!

What's on your menu this week?

Meal Planning Monday

I'm yet to weigh in after last weeks slimming world themed planner but the healthier eating combined with a lot of walking has hopefully made me lighter for the scales! We stuck to the plan well bar a bbq - we had to enjoy the sunshine while it was here.

This weeks planner has a few meals repeated from last week and a few other bits added in that are quite quick to sort. With it being the summer holidays we seem to be out and about quite a lot so anything quick and easy is great until September.

Monday - Pizzas and salad
Tuesday - Mediterranean hot pot (slow cooker)
Wednesday - Fish with parsley sauce and veg
Thursday - Cajun Sausages

I'm leaving Friday, Saturday and Sunday free as it's our child free weekend and we may be heading to Drayton Manor for a friends birthday (depending upon the weather). What are you scoffing this week? You can head over to At Home With Mrs M to link up or to view more planners.

Meal Planning Monday

After another indulgent week of snacks and various meals out (you can read about that here), I've decided to plan this weeks dinners around Slimming World! Obviously the rest of the family don't need to lose weight, although they can eat the meals too, but I could really do with shifting a few pounds and I aim to lose a stone over the 6 week holiday.

Monday - Fajitas
Tuesday - Mediterranean chicken hot pot (slimming world recipe)
Wednesday - Eating out as child free
ThursdayCheesey chilli beef pie (slimming world recipe)
Friday - Cod in parsley sauce (slimming world recipe)
Saturday - Chicken Tikka Masala (slimming world recipe)
Sunday - Cajun sausage and baked bean pot (slimming world recipe)

I didn't particularly want to have lots of salads as I still enjoy a filling evening meal but all of the above are packed with veg and are far healthier. Hopefully the combination of lower fat meals and being out and about with the kids over the summer will help me to lose weight!

Meal Planning Monday

With the Mini Me's friends over to play and then them heading off to their dad for a few nights, this weeks meal planner is a little different to usual and based around fast, simple meals... and eating out.

Monday - Pasta Bake (heading to a family gathering afterwards)
Tuesday - Pizza, salad and garlic bread (the Mini Me's friends are over)
Wednesday - Going to the Harvester for dinner with the Mr as the Mini Mes are with their dad. I think I'll be having steak medium rare *mmmm*!
Thursday - Lasagne
Friday - Salmon and gnocchi bake (the Mini Mes are with their dad friday until sunday)

Saturday we are meeting up at the pub with family so we will probably eat there and Sunday I'm thinking jacket potatoes with lashing of beans and cheese as I've fancied one for ages!

What's on your menu this week?

Meal Planning Monday

All this cold weather is making me poorly *sniffles*. I'm in need of quick and easy, filling meals this week so that's what we have planned.

Monday - Pizza, garlic bread and salad
Tuesday - Fajitas
Wednesday - Chicken tikka masala, garlic and coriander bread and rice.
Thursday - Enchiladas
Friday - Toad in the hole with mash, petit pois and gravy
Saturday - Pasta bake
Sunday - Roast Gammon and all the trimmings

We have the kids every day this week so I've planned for the weekend as well. If it's just me and the Mr we tend to eat out or with friends when it's Saturday and Sunday but I'm being super organised and we have done the food shop for 7 days rather than 5.

What are you scoffing this week? Is the weather altering your eating habits?

Meal Planning Monday

Last weeks meals were spot on what we planned bar Friday, which turned out to be a turkey lasagne cooked by the Mr. The fish cakes we had purchased fresh for Friday were actually out of date, naughty Tesco, so we had lasagne as an alternative.

This week is a little different to the past few weeks. I actually had a look online for some inspiration in meal ideas and have come up with this as the planner:

Monday - Moroccan Lamb Kofte with spicy tomato sauce and cous cous

Tuesday - Fajitas (we usually have this but it gets the kids eating lots of pepper and onions so I don't object!)

Wednesday - Homemade chicken and ham pie, mash and peas

Thursday - Garlic kievs, new spuds and carrots

Friday - Hunters chicken with mixed veg and jacket potatoes

Saturday - Kids are at their dads and I'm off to a chinese buffet for a Hen party!
Sunday - Undecided but we will probably eat out.
