I Believe

There was a time, several year ago, when I felt alone.
Unwanted, fearful of the future and incredibly down about my life in general.

I wondered who would want a single mum, a single mum with two very young children that had already been through so much.
They would always be my priority, as any child to any mother should, but as time went by I wanted someone for me.

Someone to cuddle up to in the evenings.
Someone to be there through the ups and downs.
Someone to hold and love. Someone that would love me back in return.
Someone that would accept me for who I am and not see my children as 'baggage'.
Someone that would treat both me and my children as their own, without question.

I was scared that this someone didn't exist.

Then along came the Mr.

He made me believe that you can find love when you least expect it.
He made me believe that not everyone judges parents without partners.
He made believe I was special and that I deserved happiness.
He made me believe I am beautiful and my children are worth loving by someone other than me.

He is my boyfriend, my best friend, my rock.

I believe in family.

Reasons to be happy

You're not from round here

My reasons to be happy

Despite another week of illness and two days off school for the Mini Mes, I have lots of reasons to be cheerful!

On Monday I was contacted by the lovely Tara from over at Sticky Fingers to let me know that I had won a competition on her blog. The competition was based on photography and part of the Gallery link up with the theme Fitness and my entry was selected to win the first prize.... £200 of Sweaty Betty vouchers, £50 of high street vouchers, some fitness books and 2 crates of drinks from Coca Cola - WOW!! I was thrilled and I can't wait to receive my goodies. You can view my winning entry here.

It was fantastic to attend parents evening last Thursday night and to hear about how well the Mini Mes are getting on. Both are achieving above expectations for their age and progressing well.
Proud mummy moment!

My next reason to smile is my Mr. He is such an awesome man and although I feel he knows that he is appreciated and loved dearly it's nice to pop it down on paper (or here) from time to time. He truly is fantastic for taking on the Mini Mes and me (not that I'm hard work or demanding *cough*) over the past 3 and a half years and treating them as if there were his own. He never moans and he doesn't even suffer from man flu! He is my rock and I would love to spend my life with him.

What reasons to you have to be cheerful this week?

Fitness - The Gallery

The leaves crackle beneath our wellies and the mud squelches then splashes up our trousers. We duck for branches and bushes, dodge thistles and nettles and plod on across fields with the puppy in tow. Being a pet owner takes dedication. When it's raining or snowing the little pooch still needs his daily exercise.... as do we!

At the same time as walking the dog we are improving our fitness whether that's through jogging along side him flicking his toy for him to fetch, walking and clambering through dirt and streams on our adventures or running to see who can get his ball first to throw next. Fitness can be fun and the whole family can join in.

You can try the new Coca-Cola Work It Out Calculator to find suggestions on how to burn off calories you have consumed to create a healthy lifestyle.
